I like the part she says you don’t need money to do what you want, commitment and persistence is crucial. Its a good thing she acknowledges that the journey is full of disappointments but that should not deter us, your work will sell itself. This was a perfect one Kipainoi!? Indeed we have a responsibility to make the world a better place?.

I have always stated boldly that young girls in Communities that practice FGM lack strong mentors with a straight head on firm shoulders. No wonder such practices are easily embraced and carried forward from generation to generation. It is sad that statistics in this communities still confirm unequal platforms for both boys and girls to thrive. I appreciate every effort to paralyse such unlawful practises.

Its good for you to represent our community especially for the movement against FGM
Having mentors in the anti-FGM campaigns is a brilliant concept to engage young women from the affected communities. Besides, I fancy the music at the background of the podcast in the first few minutes, it captures the attention of the audience to the topic of discussion. The podcast has informative content based on real case studies based on MGF Founder’s account. The content is more memorable because the interviewer taps into the details of first-hand accounts and real case studies. Salute!
It is amazing to listen to how Marakwet Girls began. What a phenomenal woman – leading the way for other women and working to end FGM. Her vivid description of life as a girl in Marakwet is thought-provoking!
A mentor is not only someone we look up to but someone who has walked the path and willing to share the experience with a bid to helping the mentee become the person they are meant to be.
The danger, albeit, is trying to make them be the other version of us – doing things our way. This is limiting.
